Dr. Jacqueline Starink
DVM, Owner
Meet Dr. Starink!
With an impressive 48 years in veterinary medicine and 20 years at Erin Mills Pet Hospital, Dr. Starink brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and compassion to every patient she sees. Her journey into veterinary medicine began as a teenager when she worked her first job in a veterinary clinic. Combined with a lifelong love of animals and a childhood spent around horses, dogs, and cats, it quickly became clear that caring for animals was her calling.
Dr. Starink has a special passion for problem-solving, whether it involves medical cases, surgery, or dentistry. She enjoys the challenge of finding answers and creating treatment plans that help pets live healthier, happier lives. One of the things she loves most about her role is that no two days are ever the same, making every day both rewarding and exciting.
At home, Dr. Starink shares her life with Smokey and three beloved clinic cats, Dodger, Rodger, and Deloris. All 4 kitties were once strays who found their forever homes. She loves their unique personalities and the joy they bring to her life.
Outside of work, Dr. Starink enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, exercising, visiting museums, reading, and watching movies.
Dr. Starink wants clients to know that she treats every patient as if they were her own pet and always strives to act in their best interest. Her dedication, experience, and genuine love for animals continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of pets and their families.

Dr. Bisni Peter
DVM
Meet Dr. Bisni!
Dr. Bisni has been working in veterinary medicine since 2006 and has been a valued member of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team for the past eight years.
Her passion for veterinary medicine began with a lifelong love of animals. Growing up surrounded by pets, she always knew she wanted a career caring for them. While she initially considered working with large animals, she ultimately found her calling caring for dogs and cats, where she could combine her love of animals with her interest in medicine.
Dr. Bisni has a special interest in diagnostics, medical problem-solving, and geriatric care. She enjoys the process of uncovering the cause of a pet’s illness and creating treatment plans that help patients enjoy the best possible quality of life, especially as they age. One of the things she values most about working at Erin Mills Pet Hospital is the collaborative environment, where veterinarians can share knowledge, discuss cases, and support one another to provide exceptional patient care.
At home, Dr. Bisni cares for her fish, AJ, and often enjoys spending time with and looking after her neighbour’s dog. Outside of the clinic, she loves gardening, cooking, travelling, and getting lost in a good book.
Dr. Bisni wants clients to know that she genuinely cares about every pet she sees and is committed to providing compassionate, thoughtful care for each patient as if they were her own.

Dr. Michael Sam
DVM
Meet Dr. Michael!
Dr. Michael has worked in veterinary medicine for 10 years and has been part of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team for the past 2 years. He brings a thoughtful, well-rounded approach to patient care, with a strong focus on both clinical medicine and the human-animal bond.
He was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine because it combined his interests in animals and medicine, along with his appreciation for the relationship between pets and their owners. From early on, he knew he couldn’t see himself doing anything else.
Dr. Michael enjoys the balance that veterinary medicine offers and has a particular interest in working up medical cases and internal medicine. He appreciates the “puzzle” aspect of diagnostics and the process of piecing together information to reach a clear and effective treatment plan.
What he loves most about his role is seeing positive outcomes for patients and ensuring client satisfaction. He values the opportunity to help pets recover and to support owners through every step of their pet’s health journey. Dr. Michael’s superpower is his ability to see the bigger picture in every case. He is committed to looking out for the best interests of his patients while also considering each client’s unique situation, always approaching care without judgment. He values honesty and open communication, and strives to provide thoughtful, well-rounded recommendations for every patient he sees.
At home, Dr. Michael shares his life with Kai, a nearly 6-year-old feline companion he adopted while in veterinary school in Australia. Outside of work, he enjoys playing video games, driving, and spending time with friends.

Dr. Alexandra Hume
DVM
Meet Dr. Alex!
Dr. Alex has been working in the veterinary field for 7-8 years and has spent the past year practicing as a veterinarian. She joined the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team nearly a year ago and has quickly become a valued Doctor at the clinic!
Her passion for veterinary medicine stems from a lifelong love of animals combined with a fascination for medicine and science. Being able to blend those interests into a career that helps pets and their families makes her work incredibly rewarding.
Dr. Alex has a particular interest in feline medicine and internal medicine. She enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and managing complex medical cases while helping pets achieve the best possible quality of life. What she loves most about her role is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and to support the people who care for them.
At home, Dr. Alex is kept company by her three cats, Lucy, Tabitha, and Stash, who each bring their own unique charm and personality to her life.
When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys staying active through swimming, biking, and running.
Dr. Alex wants clients to know that she genuinely cares about both their pets and their families. She is committed to providing compassionate care and always wishes the very best for the pets and people she has the privilege of serving.
Her go-to drink is a refreshing ginger ale, having recently retired her long-time favourite, Coke!
Dr. Lu
DVM
Meet Dr. Lu!
With more than three decades of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Lu has been dedicated to caring for animals since 1993. She joined the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team in March 2026, bringing knowledge, expertise, and compassion to both her patients and their families.
From a young age, she had a deep interest in animals and couldn’t imagine pursuing any other career. Dr. Lu has a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, gastroenterology, endocrinology, geriatric care, and dentistry. She enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions and appreciates that no two days are ever the same.
What she loves most about her role is the opportunity to work with animals every day. In her words, “nothing can top that.” Whether she’s managing a chronic condition, or helping a senior pet maintain their quality of life, she finds great satisfaction in making a positive difference for her patients and their families.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Lu enjoys staying active through hiking, biking, and swimming. She also loves traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with her furry family members. At home, Dr. Lu shares her life with a lively group of beloved pets including two cats, Stubs and Camden, both domestic shorthairs and proud “foster fails,” as well as three dogs: Coe, a Golden Retriever mix; Tamone, a Boxer-Rhodesian Ridgeback mix; and Ruby, a sweet Shih Tzu.

Veterinary Technician
Meet Cindy!
Cindy has been working in veterinary medicine since 2000 and has been a dedicated member of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team since 2001. With over two decades of experience at the clinic, she brings extensive knowledge, leadership, and a deep commitment to patient care.
Her passion for veterinary medicine began early, inspired by her childhood bond with her grandparents’ dog, Tinker, a Cockapoo who she considers “the love of her life.” Growing up without pets of her own, she spent many summers with Tinker, sharing countless adventures that sparked her lifelong love for animals.
Cindy has a strong interest in laboratory diagnostics and enjoys staying current with advancements in veterinary medicine. She is passionate about learning new technologies and diagnostic tools that help improve patient care and support accurate, timely treatment decisions.
What she loves most about her role is the opportunity to mentor and train other team members. She finds great fulfillment in teaching, setting a positive example, and helping others grow within the veterinary field. Cindy’s superpower is her strong intuition and ability to read both people and animals, allowing her to quickly understand situations and provide thoughtful support.
At home, Cindy shares her life with her beloved pets: Archie, a Blue Tick Coonhound–Beagle mix; Seymour Sandwiches, an 8-year-old grey and white cat; and Jamie, a brown tabby originally adopted from Erin Mills Pet Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, camping, and being with her children.

Robert
Registered Veterinary Technician
Meet Robert!
With 6 years of experience in veterinary medicine at Erin Mills Pet Hospital, Robert is a dedicated member of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team.. His commitment to patient care and steady presence within the clinic have made him a valued part of the hospital community.
His path into veterinary medicine began with a personal experience caring for his own dog. Wanting to help her and other animals like her sparked an interest that gradually grew into a lasting career in veterinary medicine.
Robert has a general interest in all areas of veterinary care and enjoys the variety that each day in the clinic brings. He finds fulfillment in providing compassionate care to patients and supporting their well-being through every stage of treatment. What he enjoys most about his role is the ability to directly contribute to the care and comfort of the hospital’s patients.
Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with friends and family and spending time outdoors whenever possible. At this time, he does not have any pets of his own, but hopes to welcome one into his life in the future.

Meet Kelly!
With 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Kelly is knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to every patient she meets. She joined the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team 10 months ago and has quickly become a valued member of our hospital family.
Inspired by a lifelong love of animals, she grew up with two dogs and two crested geckos, which sparked her passion for helping pets live healthier, happier lives. Today, she has a special interest in client education and animal behaviour, focusing on making veterinary visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both pets and their families. She is also FelineVMA Certified through the Cat Friendly program, allowing her to provide feline patients with a gentle, low-stress experience tailored to their unique needs.
What she loves most about veterinary medicine is the opportunity to make a difference in a pet’s life every single day, even if it’s only during a 30-minute appointment. She believes that every interaction matters and strives to ensure each patient feels safe, respected, and cared for.
At home, she shares her life with two beloved dogs: Hershey, a Goldendoodle, and Houdini, a Cane Corso-German Shepherd mix. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, taking them to physiotherapy appointments, pursuing continuing education opportunities, and all things space-related.
Known for her exceptional attention to detail, even down to the (literal) microscopic level, she takes pride in providing thorough, thoughtful care. One thing she’d like clients to know is that she’s comfortable working with pets of all sizes, from giant “couch potatoes” to tiny lap dogs, and will always do her best to ensure their veterinary experience is as stress-free as possible.

Meet Erin!
Erin has worked in veterinary medicine for 3 years and has been part of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team for the past 4 months. She brings a strong passion for patient care, continuous learning, and creating positive experiences for both pets and their families.
Erin was inspired to enter veterinary medicine by her long-standing love of animals and a strong desire to help them. That early passion grew into a rewarding career dedicated to improving animal health and well-being.
She has a special interest in surgery and senior feline care, and enjoys being actively involved in surgical cases, case discussions, and ongoing learning within veterinary medicine. Erin is Fear Free Certified and a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Professional (CPEP – CAETA), prioritizing compassionate, low-stress care in all aspects of her work.
What Erin loves most about her role is the opportunity to be part of her patients’ lives through every stage—from watching puppies and kittens grow into happy, healthy adults to supporting pets through surgery, recovery, and ongoing medical care. She enjoys helping patients recover, contributing to case management and treatment plans, and building lasting relationships with both pets and their families. Erin finds it especially rewarding to get to know her patients over time and provide compassionate care throughout every stage of their lives.
At home, Erin shares her life with her 9-year-old rescue cat, Walter, as well as Norman, a palliative foster cat she currently cares for. Erin’s superpower is her willingness to learn and continuously grow, guided by humility and a strong desire to continually improve patient care. She is deeply committed to ensuring both clients and patients feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to advocate for their pets’ well-being. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, and watching reality TV.

Kaitlyn
Veterinary Technician
Meet Kaitlyn!
Kaitlyn has worked in veterinary medicine at Erin Mills Pet Hospital for 17.5 years. Her long-standing commitment and experience make her an integral part of the hospital team.
She was inspired to enter veterinary medicine by her lifelong love of animals, which continues to motivate her work every day. Kaitlyn has a special interest in surgery, blood collection, and working with challenging or fearful patients. She is highly skilled in handling stressed and aggressive animals and plays an important role in helping ensure safe and compassionate care for all patients.
What she loves most about her role is the opportunity to see and work with a wide variety of animals each day. She enjoys the diversity that veterinary medicine brings and the chance to make a difference in many different cases. Kaitlyn’s superpower is her ability to safely and confidently handle aggressive animals, helping ensure both patient and staff safety while maintaining compassionate care.
At home, Kaitlyn shares her life with her two cats, Shrimp and Eli. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, JJ and Kaylee.

With over 30 years of experience in the veterinary industry, I bring a deep passion for animal care and a wealth of knowledge to every aspect of my work. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong foundation in providing compassionate, high-quality care for a wide variety of animals. My dedication to the well-being of pets and their owners is unwavering, and I find immense joy in being around animals — it’s truly where I feel most at home. Whether it’s assisting in surgeries, providing routine care, or simply comforting a frightened animal, I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of both the animals and their families.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time at the beach with my two boys, crafting, and
cherishing moments with friends and family.

Michelle joined the Erin Mills Pet Hospital family in 2009 as a receptionist. Previously she worked as a Customer Service Representative at a major bank. Michelle’s smile and genuine caring attitude, her dedication and joyful nature is what greets our patients and clients every day.
Married to her high school sweetheart Jim for 44 years, Michelle’s greatest joy comes from her two sons, and her three grandsons.
Michelle enjoys going to the gym, being up north in cottage country, and spending time with her cat Snickers.
Simran
Receptionist
Meet Simran!
Simran is new to the veterinary medicine field, having joined Erin Mills Pet Hospital just over one month ago. Although early in her career, she brings a strong passion for animal care and client support, along with a genuine enthusiasm for learning and growing within the profession.
Her interest in veterinary medicine was inspired by her personal experiences with her own pet, including going through two major surgeries with her dog. Those experiences deepened her understanding of how important compassion, support, and reassurance are during a pet’s medical journey, and motivated her to help other families going through similar situations.
Simran is especially interested in supporting clients and expanding her knowledge of veterinary medicine so she can contribute in a variety of areas within the clinic. She enjoys the opportunity to connect with clients, provide reassurance, and be part of a team that helps pets receive the care they need.
What she loves most about her role so far is the ability to meet new people every day and see a wide variety of animals. She finds fulfillment in the fast-paced, people-focused environment and values every opportunity to build meaningful connections with both pets and their owners.
At home, Simran shares her life with her American Bully, Luna, a 7-year-old pup described as both loving and a little sassy! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with Luna, working out, and being with friends.
Valuing social awareness and emotional intelligence, she aims to navigate both client and team interactions with care and understanding. She strives to be approachable, friendly, and supportive in every interaction, ensuring clients feel comfortable and cared for during their visit.

Meet Jade!
Jade recently joined the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team as Practice Manager and is excited to return to veterinary medicine after completing her schooling and exploring the human side of healthcare and athletics. With previous experience as both a Veterinary Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant, she brings a well-rounded perspective to the clinic. A lifelong learner, Jade is passionate about continuing to grow alongside her team while helping create a positive experience for both clients and their pets.
Her passion for veterinary medicine stems from a lifelong love of animals and a belief that pets are truly cherished members of the family. She is particularly interested in diagnostics, surgery and animal behaviour.
Outside of work, Jade enjoys spending time with friends & family, photography (particularly film), as well as painting, hiking/anything outdoors, cooking, traveling, playing video games, and horseback riding.
At home, she shares her life with her partner and 2 new kittens! “Poro”, an orange Domestic Medium hair, and “Naru”, a black Domestic Longhair. They love to play (especially at 2am even after attempting to tire them out before bed) and explore anything new to them. After moving to a new city with her partner, she feels welcoming 2 new family members has made the place really feel like home.
Jade strives to create a welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. She understands that veterinary visits can sometimes feel overwhelming, and her goal is to help make every experience as positive and reassuring as possible for both clients and their furry family members.

Viktoria started as a veterinary receptionist with Erin Mills Pet Hospital in August 2024. She thrives on creating positive, welcoming experiences for both pets and their owners. Outside of work, you’ll find her exploring the great outdoors — whether it’s hiking through the serene woods or soaking in the beauty of nature up north. She is an avid coffee enthusiast, never passing up an opportunity to sip a warm cup of coffee.
Miranda
Receptionist
Meet Miranda!
Miranda has worked in veterinary medicine for 6 years and has been a valued member of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team for the past year. She brings a strong background in both general and specialty/emergency practice, along with a deep passion for supporting pets and their families during challenging times.
Her inspiration to enter veterinary medicine comes from her lifelong love of animals, as well as personal experience caring for her own dog with a heart condition. Through frequent veterinary visits, she witnessed firsthand the compassion and support provided by veterinary teams, which inspired her to pursue a career where she could offer the same comfort and care to others during stressful moments.
Miranda has a special interest in dog training and behaviour, an area she has also explored with her own dog, achieving top dog! She also enjoys internal medicine cases, including foreign body diagnosis and surgery, and appreciates the hands-on, problem-solving nature of veterinary medicine.
What she loves most about her role is being able to support clients through difficult and emotional situations while also advocating for the well-being of their pets. She finds it meaningful to be present for families when they need reassurance, guidance, and compassionate care the most.
At home, Miranda shares her life with Phoenix, a 10-month-old rescue pup from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. Phoenix often accompanies Miranda at work making them truly inseparable.
Miranda’s superpower is her ability to remain calm in highly stressful situations, helping to reassure both clients and patients when it matters most. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and socializing.

Divya
Veterinary Assistant
Wanting to follow her childhood dreams, Divya is currently a full time tech assistant at Erin Mills Pet Hospital with hopes to become a registered veterinary technician in the future. Graduating from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College, she went on to successfully complete her BSc in Biomedical Sciences (Hons) at Toronto Metropolitan University. With our technicians and veterinarians, she makes sure that the streamline care of patients is steady and ensures that all patients are well treated and attended to with lots of love! She ensures that our clinic is running smoothly by taking responsibility for restocking veterinary supplies, maintaining cleanliness, preparing client orders, helping out at our front desk whenever she can, and much more. You won’t find her in one place for too long! She is a cat mom of 2 adorable kitties, an orange tabby and a siamese mix. On her days off she likes to spend time with her family, cats and spend time bingeing shows on Netflix, playing video games, singing karaoke, or reading books on topics of all kinds, seeking to expand her knowledge at whatever chance she gets.
Devanshi
Veterinary Assistant
Meet Devanshi!
Devanshi has worked in veterinary medicine for 4 years and just recently celebrated 1 year with Erin Mills Pet Hospital! She brings a strong personal connection to animal care and a genuine passion for supporting pets and their families.
Her love for animals began early in life, growing up in a large family in India surrounded by many animals, including 10 dogs. However, her path into veterinary medicine became even more meaningful after adopting her own dog, who was diagnosed with parvovirus. Through frequent veterinary visits (sometimes twice a day) she witnessed the dedication and care of veterinary teams firsthand. That experience inspired her to pursue a career where she could provide the same level of support and compassion to others.
Devanshi enjoys being part of a field where she can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. She is especially motivated by helping pets through illness and recovery and values the opportunity to support clients during both routine and challenging moments.
At home, Devanshi shares her life with her German Shepherd, Jimmy, and her two cats, Babban and Ballu. Outside of work, she enjoys relaxing with Netflix and spending downtime recharging.

Veterinary Assistant
Meet Adem!
Adem has worked in veterinary medicine for 2.5 years and has been a valued member of the Erin Mills Pet Hospital team for the past 1.5 years. He brings curiosity and a strong commitment to both patient care and client support.
He was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine with the long-term goal of entering veterinary school in the future. His passion for the field continues to grow as he gains hands-on experience and deepens his understanding of animal health and diagnostics.
Adem has a special interest in client communication and diagnostics, and he enjoys being involved in the problem-solving aspect of veterinary medicine. He finds great satisfaction in helping both patients and their families navigate care and treatment options.
What he loves most about his role is the ability to support both patients and clients every day. He values the opportunity to make a positive difference in their experience at the clinic and to contribute to quality patient care.
At home, Adem has two cats, Mark and Miso, who are 2-year-old brother and sister!
Known as a true “people person,” Adem brings strong interpersonal skills to his role, helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and their pets. Outside of work, he enjoys an active, outdoors-focused lifestyle that includes fishing, hiking, and camping.

Registered Veterinary Technician
Katie graduated from Georgian College and brings a wealth of experience to her role, having worked in referral and emergency medicine as well as small animal practices. Her compassionate nature and dedication to animal care shine through in everything she does.
At home, Katie shares her life with Frankie, a cat who is always eager for cuddles, playtime, and never seems to stop purring. She also has Nash, a horse she rescued, rehabilitated, and trained into a successful show horse. Together, Katie and Nash compete in hunter/jumper events, showcasing the incredible bond they’ve built through hard work and trust.
Avery
Veterinary Assistant
Meet Avery!
Avery has worked in veterinary medicine here at Erin Mills Pet Hospital for 6.5 years. She brings a strong passion for animal care, hands-on learning, and building meaningful relationships with both patients and clients.
Her love for veterinary medicine began early in life, growing up surrounded by animals. A formative experience came from spending time on her grandmother’s hobby farm, where she helped bottle-feed a baby lamb she had raised from a young age.
Avery has a special interest in surgery and particularly enjoys the technical, fast-paced nature of surgical work. She also values the opportunity to build strong connections with clients and support them throughout their pet’s care journey. Clients can rely on Avery as a calm, supportive presence who is dedicated to providing excellent care and ensuring both pets and their families feel comfortable and supported
What she loves most about her role is the ability to assist wherever needed while continuously learning and growing in a hands-on environment. She enjoys being actively involved in patient care and takes pride in helping ensure each animal receives attentive, compassionate treatment every day. Avery’s superpower is her proactive mindset and strong ability to anticipate what others need, allowing her to multitask effectively in a busy clinical environment.
At home, Avery shares her life with her dog Jenna Bell, a 3 year old pug, and fondly remembers her previous dog Migzee, who she had since she was 9 years old. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, skating, and shopping!
